Challenge details

If you would like to take up skydiving as a sport, then an Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course could be for you. As an introduction, you could try AFF level 1 with the option to continue.

If you would like to take up Skydiving as a sport then an Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course could be for you. Or, as an introduction to the sport, you could try AFF level 1 only with the option to continue. We can arrange the level 1 in the UK almost as a “try before you buy” jump. If, once you've completed the level 1, you decide that you'd like to continue with the course then there's no problem advancing to level 2 and so on.

Level 1 entails thorough and detailed instruction (Ground School) teaching you how to position your body in order to be stable in freefall and also to perform various manoeuvres in the air. Level 1 culminates with a jump from a height of up to 13,500 feet accompanied by two instructors to provide in-air coaching and stability during the freefall element of the jump, after which you will control and steer your own parachute to the landing area.

Jump sites:

Cockerham, Lancashire
Nottingham, Notts
Bridlington, Yorks
St Agnes, Cornwall
Tiverton, Devon
Maidstone, Kent
Brackley, Northants
Peterborough, Cambs
March, Cambs
Grange Over Sands, Cumbria
Durham, Durham
Perth, Perth
Glenrothes, Fife
Brigg, Linconshire
Whitchurch, Shropshire
Lowestoft, Suffolk
Co Londonderry, N. Ireland
Swindon, Wiltshire
Netheravon, Wiltshire
Salisbury, Wiltshire
Cirencester, Gloucs
Swansea, Wales

Not all locations operate 7 days a week although most DO operate at weekends. You may decide to travel a little further to be able to jump on a date that suits you.

The altitude that you jump from can vary from place to place and is largely dependent on the type of aircraft used at that particular dropzone.
