Overseas charity challenges
The grass is not always greener but, in the case of taking your quest to raise money for a good cause abroad, the grass is often more dramatic, spectacular and awe-inspiring.
It’s a simple solution to the problem of making your noble venture stand out from the crowd. Heading out into the big wide world will undoubtedly give your challenge an extra thrilling edge. Examples of charity overseas challenges include
overseas charity treks,
overseas charity bike rides,
overseas marathons and runs.
The South American jungle, the African mountains, European ski slopes - the possible destinations are virtually endless with some of the most popular destinations including
Kilimanjaro,
Everest base camp,
Machu Picchu, the
Great Wall of China and
Paris.
Heading abroad can be as unnerving as it is exciting so it’s often best to undertake these excursions as part of a group. You will find strength in numbers and the support and camaraderie of your fellow trekkers, rowers, climbers, jumpers, riders, whatever they are, will prove invaluable when it comes to completing the adventure.
Make no mistake about it, these challenges are not easy. While heading overseas may well make the whole thing more exciting, it also brings an additional issues to consider.
For example, you may need to adapt your training to suit conditions you might expect, but cannot replicate in Britain. It might be hot and sunny, for instance! Having the right equipment is also vital.
It’s all totally worth it though, once you’re out there and doing it for real.
