If you want to raise money for charity but aren’t sure of the best way to go about doing it, consider a summit peak challenge - an achievement that will stand out from the crowd, says Elaine Aronson, timeoutdoors' Challenges Editor.
Whether it’s a trek up Snowdon or charging up every peak over 3,000ft in the Lake District on an epic adventure, your boots were made for walking - so get out there and put them to the test.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT PEAK
The intensity and severity varies depending on what you choose. This means that, while it’s always better to set yourself achievable but testing goals, there is something to suit everyone. One particular standout option is the Ben Nevis or Snowdon Midnight Challenge. Arrive at the top just in time for sunrise and treat yourself to a spectacular view.
Unlike marathons and swims, which are rather individual pursuits, summit peak challenges bring you together with others to share an experience like no other.
