Charity sailing challenges
When it comes to raising money for good causes, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stand out from the crowd. It seems every stretch of land has been covered in the name of charity. It stands to reason, therefore, that to truly turn hands and generate money for your chosen cause, it’s time to look to the sea.
Ever since David Walliams completed his remarkable swim across the channel, then up the Thames, for Sport Relief, water sports have been on the rise on the charitable scene. One area that remains relatively untapped, however, is charity sailing challenges.
Few situations put you at the mercy of Mother Nature than an adventure in her mighty oceans. Come rain or shine, you’ll be out there, pitting your wits against everything the deep blue seas can throw at you and, believe us, they have considerable ammunition.
One of the most common forms of charity sailing challenges is around the clock sailing adventures. These will test the endurance of the mind, as well as the body, as you battle the wind and waves, navigating your way around the course and to the finish line.
Of course, the difficulty of the challenge you undertake should be dictated by your experience and expertise. Sailing in teams is the best way of ensuring success, and maximum fundraising, as you are able to support each other through the hardest spells and revel in the camaraderie that comes from being part of a team facing, and completing, a daunting task.
