Creating educational opportunity for some of the most vulnerable children in West Africa and Nepal.
Street Child helps some of the world's most vulnerable children to access education and works with their families to ensure they stay in school. Starting in Sierra Leone in 2008, then the poorest country in the world, Street Child has since supported over 50,000 children to access a quality education and provided over 13,000 families with sustainable business support.
Street Child supports children affected by the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone and Liberia through educational support and sustainable financial intervention. Following the Nepal earthquake in 2015 Street Child has been co-ordinating the educational response in the remote, mountainous region of Okhaldunga.
We have recently been invited by UNICEF to begin working in regions of Northern Nigeria where three million people have been internally displaced by the actions of Boko Haram, which literally translates to 'western education is forbidden'.
