- fill in the enquiry form for full details
Join the Youth Adventure Trust’s Namibian Desert Expedition and test your physical, mental and emotional limits as you discover the remote wilderness of the Namib Desert.
During this expedition of contrasts you will reach the highs and lows from mountain to sea level, experience the hot and cold of desert temperatures and see the stunning vistas of miles around only to have them snatched away by the damp fog belt that envelops the desert.
You will scale the highest point in Namibia, reaching the Konigstein on top of the Brandberg mountain (2606m), trek 54km across the Namib desert from the Messum Crater, along the Messum river until you reach the Skeleton Coast at Mile 108 and reach the top of Dune 7, the highest sand dune in the world.
The Youth Adventure Trust's friendly events team will be with you every step of the way, offering:

Inspiring young lives
Outdoor adventure can have a massive impact on somebody's life. Especially when you are 11 and vulnerable.
The Youth Adventure Trust works with disadvantaged young people from the age of 11 until they are 14. Many of them are struggling at school, aren't able to fit in, hate being in the classroom, have no positive role model, no aspirations, or chaotic and unstable home lives. They could be young carers looking after a parent or other family member, they may be in foster care, on the brink of getting a criminal record or being excluded from school.
Their circumstances make it all too easy for these young people to make poor choices that will affect the rest of their lives. By taking them outside, we help them discover their true potential and exceed their expectations. We use outdoor adventure to inspire them and give them the hope, confidence and skills to face their personal challenges. We stop them becoming another statistic.
