*Entries for charity places close Friday 25th May 2018*

Wowed by the London Marathon or the Tour de Yorkshire and want to experience a similar sporting atmosphere and challenge? If so, then RideLondon could be the perfect answer as the nation's capital is taken over by cyclists on one very special weekend.

An event now firmly established as one of the must-do cycling sportives - the time has come to bite the bullet, secure your charity place and begin your countdown to glory.

1. It's FREE to sign up
Charities will guarantee you a place in this event (many places are FREE) in return for raising sponsorship (varying from £200 to £750). Simply choose a charity and fill in a few basic details to get the ball rolling.

The most amazing cycling event I've ever taken part in. The closed roads and the crowds made it a day I'll never, ever forget.

2. Your only chance to ride on closed roads in London
A once-a-year opportunity for all amateur cyclists to ride traffic-free in central London and into Surrey's rolling countryside for 100 'cyclists-rule' miles. There are only a handful of closed-road rides in the UK and this is one of them.

3. Enjoy London's sights
From the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park you head out along rural lanes before a spectacular finish on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. Big crowds will be cheering you on all the way over an unrivalled route made famous by the professionals and a legacy of the 2012 Olympics.
It was awesome! It’s such a brilliant course with Box Hill, which is so iconic, and then finishing on The Mall was great.

4. Make a weekend of it - watch the professionals
After your ride, watch the best cyclists in the world battle it out for glory on a similar route in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, one of several events taking place that weekend at what is dubbed the 'world's greatest festival of cycling'.

5. It's easier than you think to fundraise (plus you get extra time)
It's really common for people to wonder whether they'll be able to raise the sponsorship, but most go on to smash it! Your charity will support & inspire you all the way and you can chat to them before you sign up. Plus you get time after your ride to submit any remaining funds.

6. Get in shape for summer
Kick-start your summer hols with 10 weeks of cycling under your belt! You'll get a training plan suited to your level & tips from your charity team-mates to make sure you're race-ready.
