*NEW & UNIQUE* Wilderness trek featuring canyons, fjords, abandoned villages, dramatic coastline & little-explored mysterious lands.
Just two hours drive from Dubai this incredible and unique trek takes place amongst the 'fjords of Arabia'. Taking boats to old fishing villages we will then trek through wadis, canyons, mountains and dramatic coastline visiting remote villages before camping in the desert with campfires under a night sky strewn with stars.
Day 1 Travel to Dubai
Day 2 Acclimatisation
Relax in the plantation camp surrounded by green date palm trees, visit the local fishermans market, full safety briefing with leaders then sleep in large 'permanent' canvas tents.
Day 3 Trek to Smugglers Bay - 6 hours
Traverse spectacular coastline on rocky terrain, passing several small bays as we go. Lunch at an abandoned village with incredibly views. Follow a river bed down to smugglers bay where we will camp. Snorkel in the clear blue waters.
Day 4 Trek from Haffa to Salhamdam - 8 hours
Boat transfer to remote fishing village of Haffa. Onwards to the large abandoned village of He'el - giving us insight into what life used to be like here. Technical ascent to the ridgeline with breathtaking views at the top. Camp among the majestic mountains, watching the sunset behind the peaks.
Day 5 Trek to Wadi Shamsi - 6 hours
We venture inland amongst the mountains - negotiate the steeper gorge-like wadi that lies in our path. Scramble to the most picturesque village yet with its old water channel system and beautiful old cemetery.
