The great thing about this challenge is you can do it wherever and whenever you like to fit into your daily routine!
Your support will help Bowel Cancer UK to fund vital services and life-saving research.
There’s lots of creative ways you can get active during the month - doing squats while the kettle boils, taking the stairs rather than the lift, going for a walk during your lunch break, getting off the bus a stop early or even hoola-hooping during the TV adverts!
By committing to 30 minutes of exercise each day you’re taking on an amazing challenge, so make sure you tell everyone you know and don’t forget to ask for sponsorship.
Use your free Step up for 30 calendar along with your fitness tracker (optional) to share your progress.
"I make sure to fit in a workout wherever I can. Whether that’s a ten minute brisk walk to the shops, a quickstep whilst the kettle boils or a 15 minute more intense cardio session, it all adds up. That’s why I'm supporting Bowel Cancer UK’s Step up for 30 challenge. It’s a great way to get fit and discover types of exercise you love doing.”
“When I first started to exercise, it felt very daunting. So I started off with walking and then those ten minute walks turned into runs and later on they were marathons. Start small and then build your way up.”
“Both my wife and I are aware of bowel cancer and make sure to take our screening tests when they arrive every two years, but we also try and make lifestyle choices that lower our risk of developing bowel cancer. Exercise is obviously a huge part of my life but knowing the massive effect that just 30 minutes of exercise a day can have on my long term health, is a great extra motivator.”
“I’ve been a runner for many years and cancer was not going to stop me. It’s not how you exercise, it’s the fact that you make the effort that will have a positive impact.” Step up for 30 2018 supporter, Cristina

Beating bowel cancer together
Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer with over 16,000 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.
We are determined to change that. As the UK's leading bowel cancer charity, our purpose is clear: we are determined to save lives, improve the quality of life and support all those affected by bowel cancer in the UK. We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
Our vision is of a world where no one dies of bowel cancer, but we can't do this alone. Tomorrow can't wait. Join us and help us stop people dying of bowel cancer today.
