A trek beyond your wildest dreams that will take you through one of Mother nature's most awe-inspiring spectacles.
At over 277 miles long and over 1 mile deep, the Grand Canyon is something that you have to see, to believe. Over 5 days, this demanding trek will take you on winding mountain trails past stunning waterfalls, through a narrow canyon, to views of beautiful red sandstone vistas parched by the desert sun.
Day 1: UK - Phoenix
Depart London for the US!
Day 2: Phoenix - Oak Creek (10km)
Transfer through the Sonoran Desert to Sedona for an acclimatisation trek along Oak Creek. In the afternoon we head to our campsite at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Day 3: Descent into the Canyon (16-18km)
Our first descent to the Canyon floor begins on the Bright Angel Trail. A popular hike from the South Rim to the Colorado River, and we give you the choice of destination. Head to Plateau Point, a popular area where the brave inch to the edge to witness the Colorado River, or rest at Indian Garden under the shade of ginormous cottonwood trees.
Day 4: South Kaibab Trail (9km)
After an early start we begin our descent into the Canyon once again, this time on the South Kaibab Trail. A stunning trek which is part of the trans-canyon trail system for rim-to-rim attempts. Passing the Ooh-Aah Point, we the descend further and take in the mesmerizing views at Cedar Ridge.
Day 5: Water Canyon - Canaan Mountain (15km)
A quick transfer into Water Canyon where our trek begins. This stunning slot-canyon tucked away in the Canaan Mountain Wilderness will leave you absorbed in the views as you trek. We'll take mountain paths leading past spectacular waterfalls and glimpse into the canyon.
Day 6: Middle Emerald Pool & Scout's Lookout (10km)
Our final day trekking sees us begin along the Virgin River on a trail known as Walter's Wiggles. This is a series of 21 switchbacks that gain elevation rapidly with a finale at Scout's Lookout. We'll then descend to catch our transfer to Las Vegas and celebratory dinner.
Day 7-8: Return to UK
We say our goodbyes and catch our return flight.
