Be a part of the debut Salzburg to Oktoberfest cycle challenge and help support Orchid in their fight against male cancer. Your journey will take you over 270km through a variety of beautiful landscapes before culminating at the fantastic Oktoberfest in Munich, where you can celebrate with your fellow riders.
Challenging elevation gains will reward you with spectacular views as you cycle alongside rivers, through quaint villages, past tranquil lakes; all with a backdrop of the awe-inspiring Alps.
Day 1: Arrival in Salzburg
On arrival in the Austrian city of Salzburg, you'll meet one of the team and transfer to your comfortable hotel.
Day 2: Salzburg to Bernau am Chiemsee - approx. 114km cycling
After a quick bike fitting, we'll get geared up to start the challenge! We'll cycle south towards the market town of Grodig before crossing the border into Germany. Our journey takes us through valleys which offer incredible views of the Alps as we near the edge of Berchtesgaden National Park. Then we'll head west towards lake Chiemsee, a beautiful Bavarian freshwater lake.
Day 3: Bernau am Chiemsee to Bad Tӧlz - approx 100km cycling
Heading west from Lake Chiemsee, we'll get a feel for the local lifestyle on our way through small villages of Bad Feilnbach, Wӧrnsmuhl, Fischbachau and Schliersee.
Day 4: Bad Tӧlz - Munich - approx 58km cycling
Today we conquer the final 58km stretch as we make our way north along the River Isar. We'll venture through the woods of Grϋnwald before crossing the finish line in Munich. After freshening up at our hotel, we'll make our way to our reserved table at the famous Oktoberfest, where a well-deserved beer and celebratory meal.
The money you raise by taking part in this challenge will help Orchid in their fight against male cancer. Every day, 39 men sadly lose their life to either prostate, testicular or penile cancer and Orchid exists to save men’s lives through their pioneering research, education and awareness programmes, in addition to their much-valued dedicated Nurse led services.
