You'll go 'off the beaten track' on the ride-of-a-lifetime through beautifully contrasting landscapes on your journey to the majestic Taj Mahal.
You'll discover the best that Rajasthan has to offer through rolling green hills, desert landscapes and villages of vibrant colour on this awe-inspiring challenge!
Day 1: Overnight flight from the UK to Delhi.
Day 2: Arrive in Delhi.
Arrive at Delhi Airport and transfer to our hotel in Jaipur. After lunch, we'll get the bikes fitted and the rest of the day will be free for you to explore.
Day 3: Jaipur.
Today we'll take the opportunity explore the bustling city of Jaipur, starting with a visit to the Amber Fort and Sheesh Mahal. In the afternoon we'll visit the Jantar Mantar astronomical monument, Maharaj's City Palace and the palace of Hawa Mahal.
Day 4: Jaipur - Abhaneri - approx. 75km cycling.
Our first day of cycling kicks off from the Jamwai Mata Temple, and we'll ride past small villages as we make our way through the arid countryside to the village of Abhaneri. Here you can see the 'Chand Baori', one of the largest and deepest step wells in India!
Day 5: Abhaneri to Ranthambore National Park - approx. 80km cycling.
Today we'll experience the local culture of vibrant Rajasthan villages as we cycle along tracks surrounded by lush green fields. The landscape will start to become more barren as we negotiate narrow alleys on our way to Ranthambore National Park. Famous for its conservation of Bengal Tigers, this is one of the best places in India to see the tigers in their natural habitat!
Day 6: Ranthambore National Park - Karauli approx. 75km cycling.
It's an early start, but it will be worth it as we head out on a tiger safari! As well
as 62 tigers, the park is also home to Indian leopards, wild boar, sambar, striped hyena, sloth bear and mugger crocodiles, as well as one of India’s largest Banyon trees! We'll then begin our cycle along flat tarmac roads to our accommodation in Karauli.
Day 7: Baretha Bund and back to Karauli - approx. 80km cycling.
Today we'll ride across much hillier landscapes to the picturesque Baretha Dam, built on the River Kukand. Once we reach the village of Masaalpur, the cycling is all downhill until we reach our hotel in Karauli for the night.
Day 8: Karauli to Agra - approx. 40km cycling
The cycling is much more comfortable today as we embark on the final leg of our challenge! We can celebrate as we cross the finish line is on the outskirts of Basantpura, before jumping into our waiting vehicle to take us Agra - home of the majestic Taj Mahal!
Day 9: Agra to Delhi
This morning we can explore one of the world's most beautiful and celebrated monuments - the Taj Mahal. There's time for some last minute shopping before moving on to Delhi, where we'll reflect on our incredible achievements with a celebratory meal!
Day 10: Return to the UK
We transfer to Delhi Airport for our flight back to the UK.
