Day 1: Depart the UK.
Your Japanese adventure starts here! Get ready to be dazzled by the glitz of Tokyo, blown away by the natural beauty of the landscapes and lay your eyes on one of the world's most iconic mountains - Fuji.
Day 2: Arrive at Tokyo Narita Airport.
On arrival, you'll board your private coach transfer through the city to the start of your trek. Enjoy a relaxed evening in the hotel as you get to know your team and leader over dinner.
Day 3: Mount Furoh (928M) AND Mount Mikuni (1325M) - approx. 7-8 hours trekking.
Following a brief from your local guide, don your walking boots for the start of the trekking adventure. Your hiking will start on the trail to Mount Furoh and onwards to the finish at Kagosaka Touge.
Day 4: Mount Ohira (1296M) & Mount Ishiwari (1413M) - approx. 4-5 hours trekking.
Your days' trekking starts from the edge of Lake Yamanakako. Hiking up from the lake, you'll journey into the foothills of Mount Ishiwari, following the trail to Mount Ohira and Iimori before transferring to Kawaguchiko.
Day 5: Mount Kurotake(1793M) & Mount Hafu (1674M) - approx. 5-6 hours trekking.
Today you'll summit mounts Kurotake and Hafu, catching glimpses of the shimmering Lake Kawaguchiko as you walk through the shady and cool woodland.
Day 6: Aokigahara Forest & Fugaku Wind Cave - approx. 6 hours trekking.
A change of scene awaits today as you move away from the mountains and down into the Aokigahara Forest meaning "sea of trees" and to the Fugaku Wind Cave. The primaeval forest is full of flora and fauna dancing over the mossy forest floor creating a magical feeling. Previous volcanic eruptions and lava flow formed the air of mystery in the forest around the caves.
Day 7: Mount Amegatake (1772M) & Asagiri Plateau - approx. 6-7 hours trekking.
Mount Amegatake provides spectacular views of Mount Fuji as you journey upwards through a combination of cool forest and tall grass. Idyllic meadows and Mount Fuji are the backdrops as you reach Asagiri Plateau, where alpine livestock graze at an elevation of 800-1000m.
Day 8: Meet Mount Fuji - approx. 4-5 hours trekking.
Your challenge culminates as you start the summit of Japan's most iconic mountain, Fuji. From station five, (Go-gome) your trek continues up the mountain to station eight (Hachi- gome) for a quick rest. The traverse up the mountain is tricky as the volcanic scree slips under your feet, but the trail is well marked.
Day 9: Summit Mount Fuji - approx. 4-5 hours trekking.
You'll set off before sunrise as you climb towards the summit of Mount Fuji. It isn't a single point, but a circular crater rim, and in true Japanese style features a shrine, weather station, post office, and a noodle bar! After savouring the sunrise, you'll head back to Tokyo to enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate your incredible achievements.
Day 10: Depart Tokyo
You are free to explore the bustling capital city of Tokyo before transferring to the airport to catch your flight home.
