An unforgettable experience awaits you in Lapland, as you spend your days dog-sledding through the frozen wilderness and your nights watching the incredible Northern Lights.
Very much a 'hands on' challenge, you'll be erecting your own tent, cooking and tending to your team of furry friends for a true taste of living as the Laplanders do! Don't worry, beginners are more than welcome and no prior experience is required as full training will be given - just be sure to bring your thirst for adventure!
Starting in Norway and driving our high-spirited huskies through untouched nature to Sweden, your efforts will be well-rewarded as we finish at the world-famous, original Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi.
Day 1: Arrive in Tromso
Depart the UK for Tromso, Norway, where we'll transfer to the Dog Sled Centre and meet our high-spirited Huskies. We'll then receive a briefing from the guides and take a short trip of 10-15km to practice our new dog-sledding skills, before spending the night in a traditional Lavvu (a tipi-syle tent).
Day 2: Sledding (approx. 30km)
After an early breakfast, we'll load up our equipment, dogs and sleds into trailers and transfer by bus to the scenic Signal Valley, the starting point of our Arctic adventure. The goal for today is to reach the Tri-Nations Border of Norway, Sweden and Finland. We'll enjoy sledding through the mountains and forests with our faithful companions, before setting up camp and enjoying the rest of the evening.
Day 3: Sledding (approx. 55km)
Following breakfast, we'll harness the dogs and break camp, heading along the Swedish border. We'll have an uphill climb which sees us ascend 800m to enjoy the incredible views. In the afternoon there'll be some deep descents as we drive down to Keinovopio. Here, we'll set up camp and enjoy our evening meal.
Day 4: Sledding (approx. 45km)
Today we'll be heading deep into the Swedish mountains, home to the Sami people. Look out for reindeer as we push on to our next camp at Rostojavri, locally known as the Fish Camp. Here, we'll enjoy a night in a log cabin!
Day 5: Sledding (approx. 55km)
Another exciting day ahead of us as we ride into the depths of the Swedish forest. A longer day of sledding, where we'll mostly keep to snowmobile tracks which offer a lot of fun as we twist and turn through the forest. Upon arrival at the camp, we'll feed the dogs and set up our tents before sharing stories around the camp fire.
Day 6: Sledding (approx. 75km)
Today will be the longest day of our epic challenge. We'll be sledding through more dramatic forest, then across lakes and rivers to reach the famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi. Upon arrival, we'll be given a tour of the mystical ice hotel, and relax before our celebratory meal in the restaurant. Share stories at the Ice Bar tonight as you relax for the evening.
Day 7: Transfer to Tromso
After a hearty breakfast at the Ice Hotel, it's time to take a transfer back to Tromso and say goodbye to our trusted companions. After freshening up at the hotel, there'll be some free time to explore Tromso itself before returning to the hotel for the night.
Day 8: Depart Tromso
