Whether you're a beginner or more experienced, one of the easiest ways to improve your cycling is to join a club. There are hundreds of cycling clubs spanning the UK, with many new ones emerging as a result of recent British cycling successes. Some clubs are mainly for leisure riders, some specialise in specific disciplines (road, track, MTB, BMX, speedway), some cater for younger riders, right through to competitive racing teams so you'll be able to find one suitable for you.
Two easy ways to find a club:
The UK's largest club - with 40% female membership - and organisers of the stunning White Rose Classic sportive each June.
Offering events across the Midlands to test your riding ability but also map reading and route planning skills.
There's more for beginners to think about than just grabbing your bike and heading out.
A social Cycling Club covering a wide range of abilities. Most members are aged 50+, but younger riders/guests are always welcome.
