Event overview
Dawlish Warren is a fantastic location for a triathlon. You start with a sea swim, then it’s onto the bikes for two or three laps of a relatively sheltered and flat bike circuit. The final single lap run takes in the coast path for some stunning views on the last couple of kilometres as you approach the finish line.
The improved run course now uses the footbridge about 300m west of transition which keeps runners well away from cyclists.
Dawlish Warren beach has consistently had excellent water quality ratings for the last five years!

I’ve done quite a few Sportiva events and the Dawlish Tri twice now. The staff are always lovely and helpful, organisation is excellent pre-race and on the day, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. I would recommend anyone to give their events a try. Fiona C
Loved every moment of this event. The atmosphere was great! Lennox T
Really well organised with instant results and detailed splits. Great venue. It would be helpful to have mats out of T1 as my shoes got clogged with mud, making it hard to clip in. Andrew M
Enjoyable race with a scenic route. Some marshals could not answer route questions and the start felt a bit rushed. A marshalled roundabout would have helped. Limited food choices and medals felt repetitive compared to other events. Paul K
Enjoyable race with a great atmosphere and decent organisation. Riley P
The course was perfectly marked and the entire event was flawlessly managed. Highly recommended! Ryan C
Love Sportiva events. They are always so well organised and the first ones I look for when entering races. Christopher S
Great local event. Well run as always with friendly staff and marshals throughout. Good to see so many first timers taking part. David O
Great course. Georgia B
Great event with friendly staff and marshals. I would prefer a slightly later start as 7:30am felt cold and dark. Triathlons are getting expensive, though I appreciate the costs involved. Matt R
Everything was spot on. The staff were amazing and incredibly supportive. After a puncture before the race, another competitor helped me fix it so I could start. The camaraderie between athletes was brilliant and made this an unforgettable first triathlon experience. Adam W
What a fantastic event. Really well organised with supportive and friendly staff. The sea swim felt very safe and well managed. Only my second sprint tri and first with a sea swim, and I’ll definitely be back. Emily V
Loved every moment of this event. The atmosphere was great! Dan M
Another amazing Sportiva event — smooth, friendly and welcoming from start to finish. Perfect for first timers and experienced athletes alike in a beautiful location. Ben S
The course was perfectly marked and the entire event was flawlessly managed. Highly recommended! Richard R
Great course, superb organisation and excellent signage and marshals. The run back by the sea gave a great boost at the end. I’ve done around 100 triathlons and this is now one of my favourites. Russ M
As my first sprint triathlon I was a little apprehensive, but there was no need. Friendly guidance and encouragement from volunteers, organisers and competitors made it a great experience. I will definitely do another. Alistair T
Well organised event with helpful and friendly staff. It would be good to have more visible toilets and additional water stations. matt s
A well run local event. Friendly, well organised and well marked, with clear swim instructions. A lovely setting where you never feel far from the start, and a beautiful location. Pippa M
Absolutely fantastic event with seamless organisation! J B
My second year racing here and once again an excellent event. Great communication beforehand and a really friendly team made everything run smoothly. I will definitely be back next year. Peter C
Lovely stretch of coastline with a good route and solid traffic control. It would be helpful to know in advance that a triathlon membership number is needed at registration. Catherine H
A fantastic race. So well organised and loads of fun. Can’t wait to do it again. Jennifer B
Great marshals and results straight away. Sally H
Really lovely event. Staggered sea swim waves helped reduce congestion and the run route was well thought out. A friendly and enjoyable way to end the season. Naomi S
Fantastic team running the event. The only disappointment was not being able to get a T-shirt in the right size at the finish. Serena C
Really well organised with a calm, helpful support team. The bike course had some bottlenecks, but the run route was good and everything was clearly marked. Jan K
My third event with Sportiva and once again it did not disappoint. Well organised, safe and enjoyable. I’m looking forward to more in 2026. Chris N
My first triathlon. Really friendly people who made me feel at ease, with plenty of encouragement along the way. Helen B
