Join Sands this September to Trek Together for every family and every baby that needs them.
Trek Together is achievable for experienced walkers and beginners alike! You have the choice of two distances, 10 or 20 miles, and with fellow walkers and team support, you will wind your way around Derwent Water, taking in the beautiful Lakeland fells and the stunning scenic countryside all around.

All you need to do is put one foot in front of the other and enjoy the amazing atmosphere, all whilst knowing you are helping to make a difference.
So come together with friends, families and new faces to make memories and remember every loved and missed baby.

This route will take between 10 and 13 hours.

Ability level
The trek is designed to be achievable for both experienced walkers and beginners with some training. However, both routes include steep ascents and descents, with the 20-mile route requiring a higher level of endurance.
Teams
You can register as a team with friends, family, or colleagues. Teams can fundraise together or set individual targets!
Dogs
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Transport & accommodation
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation. The recommendation is to arrive in Keswick the night before the event to ensure you are well-rested. Keswick has various accommodation options, including hotels, B&Bs, and campsites. You are encouraged to book early.

Overview
The event is based in Crow Park, Keswick. Both routes take participants around Derwent Water, with stunning views of the Lakeland fells and countryside.
Terrain
Expect a mix of footpaths, uneven trails, and some rocky sections. The Lake District is not flat, so training on hills is recommended.

All funds raised will help save babies' lives and help anyone affected by the death of a baby.
With your support, Sands can help provide a better future for families through investment into life-saving research, raising awareness of safer maternity care, and by providing specialist bereavement support.

Fundraising target
- All participants are asked to pledge to raise Β£220
- At least Β£132 of the minimum sponsorship should be sent to the charity by 2 August 2025
