My goal is to prove that I am the ultimate warrior of the office and Yorkshire in general. I shall conquer all obstacles in my path to eternal greatness. My name shall echo through the halls of Valhalla for all eternity.
Ran 6k in 36 minute, and my app told me I ran 5k in just over half an hour (about 20 seconds I think). My first step to reaching my main goal, and nearly achieved my first little goal- 5k in under 30 mins! Go me!
Ran first 13.5 k very slowly - over 2 hours, talked whole way round and walked quite a bit (but still did it!!). This weeks effort was much better. Less talking and did it under an hour and a half! Still a bit of walking though so need to cut that out!
After end of run, PJ and I went to the park and did a bit of calisthenics training, using our (considerable) body weight. We did pull ups and chin ups using the swing, pectoral push ups using the bench, sit ups and planks too. Need to keep it up to build strength to be able to get over any obstacle I face in the Warrior! Hurting today!
Got up and down Ben Lomond in just over 4 hours. At 974m it was quite a tough walk! Very steep in places.
Most of my training recently has been walking, done a lot. Hopefully, it will have built up my base fitness.
With only around a month left before the big day, it's time I really upped the training! Aiming to run/swim most days (aiming for at least 5 days a week). Going to be combining this with basic calisthenics to up the core strength. Having looked at the course, I will definitely need it :S
No deep muddy lakes, high castle walls, trees, obstacles or miles of trenches will defeat me.
Completed the Yorkshire Warrior! My time was 1 hour 17 minutes, which I am very pleased with. Came 85th overall and did all the obstacles. Hardest was definitely wading through the lake!
Will definitely be doing another one!!
