I love cycling and thought I'd set myself a serious target - to ride a stage of the Tour de France a couple of weeks before the pros arrive. The stage is 140km long and includes 3,300m of climbing over 4 Alpine "Cols".
Shiny new lightweight Shimano Durace C24 wheels for helping me up the Alpine climbs!
First crack at a decent sportive. The aim was to get used to group riding. The distance and climbing was fine (120km and 1700m). Came about 250th out of 1700 long course riders. All good!
