Two half-days trail running combined with relaxing yoga sessions following each run for yogis looking to discover mountain trail running for the first time, as well as for more experienced runners.
The Chamonix valley, which sits at the foot of the majestic snow covered peak of Mont Blanc, is the location for this trip. Chamonix hosts the world famous UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc) race and is a mecca for professional trail running athletes and the buzz of the town and the beauty of the trails provide an inspiring backdrop to a trail running adventure. Trails around this area are truly captivating with glaciers and summits round each corner.
This holiday is aimed at yogi runners looking for an introduction to running trails in the Alps whilst incorporating the key principles of yoga to help you run more efficiently and safely. The trails wind along the side of the valleys as well as climb up above the tree line and the route can be adjusted according to the ability of the group. Be prepared to walk uphills to get the great views!
Experienced and qualified Lead Runners will offer many tips along the way so whether you are relatively new to running trails, just looking to explore the valley or a speedier runner looking for a short luxury break then this is an excellent holiday for you! The Lead Runner will route-find and you will be running as part of a team.
Following your runs you will be guided through two yoga classes, suitable for all levels including beginners aimed to support your running. The restorative sessions will release any muscle tension accumulated during the day in the hills, as well as working on flexibility and strength.
Easy undulating trails at low levels of elevation and relatively small amounts of cumulative ascent (up to around 1000m) for runners at these paces:
