Dave Jelley is a physiotherapist and runner. In 2010 he was competing in the inaugural Round Ripon Ultra. It was a small field and he was in the lead group of five. He found himself worrying about work, and suddenly it came to him that if he could win the race he could resign from his job… a pact was made! No-one caught him and he broke the tape at the finish and rang his partner to tell her of his decision.
By 2011 he had set up Jelley Legs, a company specialising in running holidays for all levels of runners. He tries to do two or three events for himself each year: the Barcelona marathon, the Fellsman and the Transalpine run in 2014.
