Windsurfing is tremendous fun once you have mastered the technique. This can be quite tricky, and a large number of packages are based around tuition. If you're a competent windsurfer, then you can choose from all kinds of resorts for a week or two in the sun indulging in your passion.
WHAT TO EXPECT
There are holidays for all abilities and age ranges, with all types of accommodation (self-catering, B&B, or resort half- and full-board) packages. The majority of holidays will include some form of tuition, which is generally - but not always - included in the price. You can expect to be staying in an area with other water-based activities on offer, and many packages give you the option of some sailing, perhaps kitesurfing or scuba-diving, too.
WHERE TO GO
The options are endless: from the Med (Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, Greece, Turkey) to the Atlantic shores of France, the UK, Portugal, Morocco and the Canary Islands. Slightly further afield, the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt (also Israel and Jordan at its northern tip) is popular. And then there's the Caribbean, Florida, Hawaii - and pretty much anywhere else with a beach scene, for example Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius etc
