Sidmouth Hospice at Home Marathon

We had 59 medals left over so rather than bin them we have decided to run the race again for 59 runners with all entries fees going to Sidmouth Hospice at Home to celebrate their 40 years of Service. Sweetcombe Cottage Holidays have very kindly offered to sponsor the race again by providing medal ribbons and prizes for the first male and female runner to finish and all get a great bespoke medal to celebrate the achievement of finishing, and believe me it is anachievement. Please be aware that a number of previous runners have classed part of the route you will be running as an extremely tough course. The second part of this run from Sidmouth is very challenging. If you do not make the cut off times at Sidmouth and Branscombe you will be withdrawn from the race as you will have no chance of finishing in time. The aid station marshal will remove your race number and timing chip. We will make every effort to transport you to the finish. Between 26 and 27 miles with over 4000ft of ascent, two thirds of which are in the last 11 miles, Runners World has previously described our 22 mile Exe to Axe race as a “…brute of a race with some outstanding views…” and it has previously been voted one of the best races in the country. The race will be run in conjunction with the clubs Exe to Axe race so we can use their marshals, aid stations and medical facilities.
