Event overview
Each year, the Ilkley Half Marathon raises over £30,000 for charities and community groups across the Wharfe and Aire Valleys. Now in its 4th year the Ilkley Half Marathon attracts runners from all over the country and has received an ‘outstanding’ 100% rating from UK Athletics in each year for safety and quality of event.
The event is organised by the Ilkley and District Round Table and all profits go directly back into local and regional good causes, many of which are focused on children and social welfare. In recent years, Ilkley and District Round Table, has raised the best part of £1,000,000 to support welfare and community projects, primarily through this event and the famous Ilkley Beer Festival. “The money raised enriches communities, improves our towns and changes lives”, Nick Wood, Ilkley and District Round Table’s Charity Officer.
The ticket sales are now open and the next event is expected to attract 2,500+ runners and over 5,000 spectators. The event village is a spectacle in itself and many local residents enjoy the broad range of food and drink vendors, children’s activities and entertainment.
