Still considered the ultimate distance for runners
The classic test for any runner is a marathon. Running all 26.2 miles is tough, but it's achievable if you have the grit and determination to keep training. Choose from small local runs to the biggest mass participation events with tens of thousands of runners.
Perfect route for a personal best
The Yorkshire Marathon is a sell-out every year and it’s easy to see why. The course takes in historic parts of York including York Minster, the City walls and the medieval gates as well as the flat surrounding countryside - perfect for a PB.
York is also a cracking weekend destination with plenty on offer including ghost tours, the Jorvik Viking Centre, The Shambles (aka Diagon Alley) plus the National Railway Museum and even a chocolate musuem!
