The Birch Wood 10, organised by Birch Wood Area Special School, is a new event for the Melton Mowbray area that aims to raise money for the school and bring the local community together.

The event was initially created, in part, as a response to Covid-19 and provides a chance for us (at long last) to come together to celebrate our wonderful school with members of our local community. After a successful and positive event in 2022, we are looking forward to welcoming even more runners for the 2023 event. The day will see runners and walkers take on a scenic out-and-back course in 2023. The run is 10 miles long and begins at our school before quickly winding its way out into beautiful countryside on a mixture of tarmac and gravel paths/roads. At the halfway mark runners/walkers will turn-around and head back to the finish line where the Family Fun Day will be in full swing.
