Your dream of running the world's biggest ever marathon can come true!
Sign up for the Virtual TCS London Marathon, running 26.2 miles on your local roads and trails while earning the same medal that runners get in the capital! What's more, you don't even need to run it all in one go, so long as you log the full distance in 24 hours on the official app.
Gain access to live commentary from the race on the official app, with messages of support from famous faces spurring you on as you go!
Break it down into stages and enjoy regular comfort breaks, snacks and encouragement.
Choose to run a familiar loop on local roads or venture into the great outdoors for a trail marathon - the choice is yours.
You may be running on your own or with a few friends, but through the unique connection to tens of thousands of other people, every step you take has much greater significance.
Finishers will receive the official TCS London Marathon medal, which is exactly the same as the one awarded to runners in the capital!
The Virtual TCS London Marathon was held for the first time in 2020, when more than 37,000 runners, from all corners of the world, completed the race. The final finishing total of 37,966 means it has been awarded an official Guinness World Records title for the 'Most users to run a remote marathon in 24 hours'.
You have the freedom to take on 26.2 miles your way, on the route of your choice, at any time from 00:00 to 23:59:59 BST on the day of the London Marathon.
You can do it with friends or on your own, from home or away, in stages or all at once – it’s up to you!
All participants must complete the 26.2 miles outside, not on a treadmill.
The Official TCS London Marathon App is full of fantastic features that help bring the marathon experience to life. Among many other things, virtual participants can use the Official App to log their 26.2 miles and earn their coveted medal.
Every year thousands of runners take part in the Virtual TCS London Marathon and fundraise for charity.
Charities buy places in the event, then give them to runners who agree to raise money for the charity - these are called 'charity places'. Charity places are a great way to support a good cause and secure a place in the event.
Completing the Virtual TCS London Marathon counts towards the London Classics!
The London Classics is an additional challenge which involves completing three of the toughest events London Marathon Events has to offer:
Conquer all three and you've conquered London - plus you'll receive the medal to prove it!
