Event overview

The Rye Summer Classic Series provides a unique chance to enjoy one of Britain's most treasured conservation sites, covering a mosaic of interlocking shingle ridges, saltmarsh, intertidal grazing, reed-beds and saline lagoons.

It can get windy on the reserve but if conditions are favourable then fast times are likely. This race enjoys incredible race day vibes and is ideal for both beginners and experienced runners.

By car

There is parking available at Rye Harbour. Please be aware that it is a busy car park with other visitors to the Nature Reserve. We encourage car sharing where possible. Currently the car park is free but there is a donation box, if possible, we would appreciate it if you could drop a few coins in. There is also a sign saying the car park closes at 8pm – please ignore this as it will be staying open for the evening. If the car park does become full please use the roads in the village but please be mindful of local residents and do not block any driveways.

Super-friendly, well-organised and the route is set in stunning scenery. Thank you! Penny S

My first race with Nice Work and first race in Rye. The staff were fantastic, the Marshalls were so enthusiastic, encouraging and friendly it really made a massive difference. Jessica W

Second year of running this race. Well organised, beautiful scenery and fabulous Marshall support all the way. Natasha R

Great course and friends atmosphere. Great pub at the end. Simon H

Great race, lovely setting, friendly and fun, thank you Lucy W

The course was perfectly marked, and the entire event was flawlessly managed. Highly recommended! Amanda S

Loved every moment of this event! The atmosphere was great! Katie R

I only began running in January and booked the Rye 5k to motivate myself. It's the first organised race I've ever done. Kate M

what a lovely race! Having completed a fair few runs in London this year, this was a contrast. Sarah M

An attractive, flat course that was well marked and with a good surface to run on. Marshals were friendly and being a smaller race, there was no congestion of runners. Sheila W
