- Recycling
- Sustainability policy
- Trees not tees
This event is doing its best to minimise its environmental impact of this event. Here are a few of its initiatives:
Sustainability
Trees not tees
For all events which include a t-shirt, there is the option to plant a tree instead through a partnership with Treesnottees
Avoid single-use plastics
New paper cups have been sourced to be fully recycled back into high-grade paper.
Optional medals
Lots of competitors are not interested in finishers' medals so they are now optional. A £2 charity donation is made for every medal not selected.
Swim hats on request
Swim hats are provided for open water swimming events as they help the water safety teams keep track of swimmers. However for all pool events, swim hats are now on request to reduce wastage.
Reuseable zip ties and recycling
Reusable zip ties are used and all rubbish is sorted for recycling after the event.
Reducing car use
At the Burrator 10K running race those who commit to walking or cycling to the event get £5 discount.

This was my first ever triathlon and it was truly fantastic. We camped on the beach the night before which was a lovely opportunity and so nice to wake up to the sound of the waves. The event was well organised and the staff were happy to answer all of my questions. The track was well sign posted and there were marshals at key points throughout. The cycle was hillier than I thought but not impossible, a great challenge. I will 100% be looking out for more Sportiva Events soon! Erin M
It was the second time I did the event, and I am coming back next year again. The place is spectacular, the sea is calm and great for poor swimmers like me. A nice T-shirt for finishers. Andrea S
This is a very well-organised event that has improved each year. The views are stunning and the quiet lane that you run along is shady and well-chosen. The marshalls are always supportive and there are plenty of them. I never hesitated to enter this one and will be there again in 2025! Tess I
Loved this event. The whole setup was great, from the lovely location for the event to the whole organisation and friendly support staff. Sam O
Great event, a beautiful route, friendly staff, and easy check-in! Slightly awkward with spectators blocking the road in transition 2 but Marshalls did a great job of moving them along! Harriet L
As a first time triathlete you couldn't ask for a better introduction to sprint triathlon. Beautiful location, a fantastic course and amazing helpful staff who patiently answered all my little questions with heaps of encouragement and patience. Sarah A
