Event overview
The Challenge
The rules of the challenge are relatively simple.
You will be awarded an event medal and coloured finisher's shirt based on your ability to complete 10 laps of the roughly 3-mile, 4-mile or 5-mile loops in the given time. You can change down distance at any time during the day, but you must complete all 10 laps and return to the race village within each hour. Failure to complete a lap and return to the start within the hour will mean you can’t progress onto the next hour. Your finishing grade is determined by your shortest loop – not total mileage.

The Venue
Set in the heart of the Surrey Hills, Denbies Wine Estate offers a breathtaking backdrop for the Fortitude Ultra.
The venue features sprawling vineyards, rolling hills, and panoramic views that immerse participants in nature’s beauty. As one of England’s largest wine estates, Denbies combines its renowned scenic trails with a rich history and serene atmosphere, creating a unique and memorable experience for runners. The tranquil yet challenging terrain provides an inspiring setting that perfectly complements the endurance and determination required for the event.
The Course
The Blue loop is a fantastic starting point.
This challenging course has a completely different profile to the Pippingford event, with almost the entire elevation gain front-loaded into the start of the course. Does this make it easier or harder? Only one way to find out! The Blue loop is a fantastic starting point because, as long as you dig deep, get in the right mindset and keep moving, you can complete the event by either walking or running.
