Gunpowder Plot | Fun Run

It is a 2 lap route around York Knavesmire. It is a path and grass course. It is flat and completely off road. The route is overlooked by Terry's clock tower and the racecourse grandstands. We will also be hosting our popular family fun run before the main event and this will be a 1 mile loop on grass. Parents/friends are welcome to run along with younger runners, but must enter the event if they would like to earn their own medal. Timing of the events will allow parents to complete the fun run before taking part in the main event. The event is chip timed. There are no time cuts offs and the event is suitable for both experienced and new runners. The race HQ is at Hamilton Panthers Clubhouse there are toilets and changing rooms. Hot drinks will be available for sale before and after the event. There is free on road parking along Knavesmire Road and Racecourse Road. There is also cycle storage at the clubhouse. There are drinks stations along the route (please note that this is a cup-less event so runners are required to bring their own labelled bottle/cup, which can be refilled at each drinks station and can be accessed each lap. There is a bespoke medal for all runners (fun run and 10k), a goody bag and homemade cake for all finishers. Final event information will be e-mailed out to everyone the week before the event and registration and bib/chip pick up will be on the morning of the event.
