Three invigorating cycle challenges, ranging from 41 miles to 100 miles exploring the region's beautiful scenery and famed cycling climbs. Fully supported, with feed stations, medical assistance, mechanical support and even motorcycle outriders to ensure a premium feel, with every turn of the pedals.
Starting and finishing at Ripon Racecourse, all routes enjoy the flat terrain around Boroughbridge to commence the ride, before the three distances part ways, the Cool Route passing Fountains Abbey, with the longer Classic and Champion routes diving into the Yorkshire hills, to take on some of the fine cycling roads of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With York only a short trip away, the inviting proposition to explore this historic city beckons. A wonderfully vibrant yet compact centre, there are heaps of options to explore on the Saturday before your ride, from the renowned Yorvik Museum to sightseeing around the many iconic sights. York is also the perfect tonic post-ride, with lively pubs and bars, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and a superb selection of eateries to help you retrieve some of those lost calories!
- Plastic bottle free
- Public transport links
The event encourages sustainability by using wooden medals to celebrate your achievement. It also operates no-plastic-bottle feed stations, offering water refills from water bowzers instead. Participants are encouraged to take public transport, or car-share to reach the event.
Great organisation and thoroughly enjoyed the route. I will definitely enter a future sportive!
Genuinely one of the best sportives I have taken part in. Fantastic route through beautiful scenery and outstanding villages. Challenging climbs, fast descents. Great feed stations and friendly encouraging team of people. Couldn't fault and would really recommend any of the distances just keep something in the tank for Lofthouses if you're on the long route.
As a Yorkshire rider myself I am developing an exciting new route for RIDE Vyking, one which I think you'll love even more and will prove to be popular amongst the Yorkshire community. There will still be lots of incredible views and climbs to remember!
Brilliant organisation, superb signage along the well thought out and beautiful route. The volunteers deserve lots of praise because without their help, cakes, jelly babies and other essential food we would not have got round. Many many thanks.
Great organisation and thoroughly enjoyed the route. Will definitely enter a future sportive!
Thank you for a very well-organised event. The signage was excellent and the route fabulous. The rest stations were so welcoming and well-stocked with ample food and drink to fuel us, and even the offer of a hot drink - it was like waiter service! I will definitely look to do this event again. Thank you to all involved. Justine, RIDE The Dales finisher
