Degree of Difficulty

  • Considered a moderately difficult adventure, there's some challenging hiking, and exhilarating adventures over nine consecutive days
  • A good level of fitness is beneficial, to maximise enjoyment of the range of activities.

Indonesian Menus

  • This adventure is presented on a full board basis. 
  • Breakfasts and evening meals are taken in the hotel, or local restaurants. 
  • Lunches are presented in a picnic style, with fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, cheese and cold meats. 
  • Indonesian food is a delight. Typical main meals will include steamed rice, with one or two main dishes of fish, meat or vegetables.

Getting to Bali

  • Fly to Denpasar, the international airport on Bali. The airport code is DPS.
  • From the UK, numerous operators offer flights, including Singapore Airlines, Qatar, Emirates, Etihad and Turkish Airlines, all with connections en route.
  • A representative will meet participants at the airport, to organise the transfer to the hotel.

Extreme Indonesia Itinerary

  • Day 1 | Arrive in Bali

    Arrive in Bali, take a transfer to the hotel before an evening pre-trek briefing with the rest of the group.

  • Day 2 | Surfing at Kuta Beach

    Take a surfing lesson on the beautiful Kuta Beach, before taking a transfer to the centre of Bali to overnight near Mount Batukaru.

  • Day 3 | To Ketapang

    Visit Batukaru temple in the morning, before an interesting hike through ricefields and waterfalls. Take a transfer to Gilimanuk in the afternoon to catch a ferry to the island of Java. Overnight in Ketapang.

  • Day 4 | Mount Ijen

    An early start to commence the trek to Mount Ijen. After two hours of easy hiking, reach the crater rim of Kawa Ijen volcano, and the turquouise hydrochloric acid lake that lies within. Return to the hotel to take lunch before taking the ferry back to the island of Bali. 

  • Day 5 | Menjangan Island

    Take a fishing boat to the island of Menjangan in the morning, to enjoy some of the best snorkelling in Bali, visiting two or three different locations to enjoy the vast range of marine life. There may be chance to take a short walk on the island to visit a temple that is home to a population of deer. Returning to the mainland, there is time to relax and enjoy some free time by the beach. It is possible on day 5 to take the option of going diving with a PADI instructor. A fee of $145 is payable for a training session in a swimming pool and two dives of 30-40 mins each.

  • Day 6 | Canyoning in Ubud

    After breakfast take a transfer to the Munduk region for an adrenaline charged canyoning trip through the tropical forests. Take an afternoon transfer to the town of Ubud, which will be the base for the next two nights. 

  • Day 7 | Mountain bike from Batur to Ubud

    Take a minibus transfer to Batur Volcano, to set off on an enjoyable 35K mountain bike adventure through bamboo forests and paddy fields all the way back to Ubud. Time in the afternoon to explore the interesting town, the cultural capital of Bali.

  • Day 8 | Telaga Waja Rafting

    Take a drive to the Tampaksiring region, visiting the Tirta Empul temple and Gunung Kawi Mausoleum. In the afternoon, enjoy an exhilarating white water rafting adventure along the Telaga Waja. Take a transfer to the village of Sidemen in the late afternoon. 

  • Day 9 | Trekking Mount Batur

    An early start to take a transfer to the start point of the hike, climbing to the crater rim of Mount Batur in time for sunrise. An incredible experience, watching the sun rise from the summit of a volcano, enjoy the sensational views, before descending to take a transfer to Amed, on the east of Bali. 

  • Day 10 | Snorkelling at Amed

    A relaxed day, enjoying snorkelling trips in the water surrounding Amed, famed for its underwater biodiversity. After lunch, take a transfer to Sanur, with chance to visit the water palace of Tirta Gangga.

  • Day 11 | Departure

    After breakfast, take a transfer to the airport to begin the journey home.
