Guide itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival in Bangkok
Your adventure begins in the vibrant capital of Thailand. Arrive in Bangkok and take time to settle in before the ride begins. This bustling city blends modern skyscrapers with historic temples and riverside markets, creating one of the most exciting urban landscapes in Asia.
In the evening, you can explore the city with the group along the lively riverfront or head out to discover Bangkok at your own pace. It’s the perfect introduction to the culture, energy and atmosphere of Thailand before the cycling begins.
Day 2 | Petchaburi to Hua Hin (35 miles / 56 km | 159m elevation)
After breakfast, you travel south from Bangkok by minibus to escape the busy city roads. The ride begins near Petchaburi, giving you a relaxed introduction to cycling in Thailand.
Today’s route is short and mostly flat, helping you adjust to the heat and your bike. Quiet roads pass farms, plantations and temples before looping back to Hua Hin. In the evening, you’ll explore the town’s famous night market and enjoy fresh local seafood.
Day 3 | Hua Hin to Kuiburi (53 miles / 86 km | 67m elevation)
You set off at 08:00, heading south along smooth coastal cycle paths. The ride takes you past tropical bays, national parks and lush forest landscapes.
Leaving the busy tourist areas behind, you begin to see a quieter, more authentic side of Thailand. Fishing villages, quiet beaches and rural scenery define the day’s ride.
Day 4 | Kuiburi to Haad Baan Krut (68 miles / 108 km | 292m elevation)
Today’s ride brings a mix of coastal roads and rural countryside. You pass through pineapple plantations, small villages and peaceful stretches of tropical landscape.
One unique highlight is riding through a Thai military base, even crossing an airstrip before continuing south. The day ends on a tranquil beach lined with palm and coconut trees.
Day 5 | Haad Baan Krut to Chumphon (87 miles / 140 km | 569m elevation)
The tropical scenery becomes more dramatic as you ride deeper into southern Thailand. Forests thicken, coastal views open up and the route passes a large hilltop Buddha with panoramic views of the sea.
After lunch overlooking the coastline, you continue through rolling terrain before reaching Chumphon after a rewarding day in the saddle.
Day 6 | Rest Day and Thai Cooking Class
After several days of riding, today is a chance to recover and enjoy the surroundings. Relax by the pool, explore the local area or treat yourself to a traditional Thai massage.
For those interested, there’s also the opportunity to join a Thai cooking class and learn how to prepare some of the country’s most famous dishes.
Day 7 | Chumphon to Paktako (58 miles / 94 km | 313m elevation)
You return to the road with a scenic ride through shrimp farms, coconut plantations and mangrove forests. Fishing villages line the coast and colourful boats dot the shoreline.
With a shorter distance today, you’ll arrive early enough to enjoy the beach or relax by the pool in the afternoon.
Day 8 | Paktako to Surat Thani (68–105 miles / 110–169 km | 247m elevation)
Today offers the longest riding option of the challenge. The route continues south along quiet coastal roads and untouched beaches, passing through the historic city of Chaiya.
After lunch on the beach, you can choose to complete the final stretch by bike or transfer by minibus, depending on how you’re feeling.
Day 9 | Surat Thani to Cheow Lake (51 miles / 82 km | 257m elevation)
Today brings a unique change of pace. You cycle to the Ratchaprapa Dam before boarding a traditional longtail boat to reach floating huts on Cheow Lan Lake.
The afternoon is yours to relax, swim in the lake or explore the stunning limestone scenery by canoe. In the evening, a boat safari offers the chance to spot local wildlife.
Day 10 | Cheow Lake to Phuket (37 miles / 59 km | 543m elevation)
After leaving the lake by boat, the final ride continues along quiet roads beside Klong Phanom National Park.
You pass the beautiful Wat Bang Riang temple before a short transfer brings you to Phuket’s Nai Yang Beach. Here, you celebrate completing an unforgettable cycling journey across Thailand.

Good food, good guides, variety of hotels/huts and experience of the "real" Thailand. Some days really pushed me so a great challenge! Phil
Just returned from cycling from Bangkok to Phuket in Thailand (500 miles) - wow, what a ride! A really tough challenge at times, seeing the real Thailand, with amazing food, fantastic people - locals and my new cycling buddies. We even got to do some partying along the way - nothing like a sweaty bike ride to rid your body of the previous evenings tequilas! Thank you - thoroughly recommended to all those out for a rewarding and unforgettable experience! Faye
I had a completely fantastic time, the crew (Lorraine, Ben, Paul, Duncan and Mike) were helpful and supportive. The van was visible on numerous occasions to supply drinks, take kit etc -marvellous!!! I am very much hoping to join you all again (Thailand 2018) , fingers crossed Paul will be coming as his massage option was a lifesaver. Anna P
A great mixture of a challenge and fun that you will remember for many years. Duncan
