Overview

Kent Athletic Club provides opportunities for all abilities from the fun runner wanting to get fit, to the serious international athlete and those making a ‘comeback’, and across many disciplines including road running, cross-country and track. Non-members are welcome to join their training groups who run together supported and led by qualified coaches. Tuesday track training sessions are supplemented with off track training sessions around Ladywell Park and laps of Hilly Fields.

Membership includes optional race entry to a number of cross country fixtures, club track championships races, and some road fixtures such as the assembly league series of races. It also includes a club vest on joining the club.

The Club has an active and popular Junior section where the younger members of the Club can enjoy both track and field disciplines and varied training sessions including warm up, dynamic stretching and drills, followed by anything from pyramids, through fartlek and hill training.

4 steps to wellbeing
Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
