Overview

Each week Maidstone group has a choice of at least 2 walks on a Wednesday, mainly between 5 and 12 miles, and 1 walk on a Sunday.

Most months we include a Thursday walk for those who prefer shorter walks taken at a more leisurely pace (usually ending up with the option of a convivial pub lunch).  We also enjoy the occasional Saturday walk and some evening walks in the summer.

Among our members, we have an extremely active group of volunteers engaged on practical path work.  This involves monitoring local paths and keeping them clear and accessible - see below for an example of our clearance work.

4 steps to wellbeing
Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
