Overview
New in 2025, the Aberfoyle Ultra is an epic endurance challenge for those ready to push their limits. Covering miles of pristine Scottish wilderness, this ultra-marathon takes runners deep into the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, with long technical climbs, remote trails, and stunning panoramic views. This course will test your endurance, mental resilience, and trail-running prowess.
This autmnal challenge takes in a fantastic mix of forest track, single track trails and a short section of tarmac in the first km...You will experience the orange glow of the forests as the trees begin their autumnal cycle, vast views of the surrounding mountains - including Ben Lomond and trails that hug the lochside.
Runners can choose from either the 63km of 52km option when registering for the event. Setting off on the same course as the 63km, there are multiple cut-off points on the route where runners can drop to either 52km, marathon distance (and a bit) of 44km or half marathon of 21km.
Experience level: The course is designed for those making their first attempt at the ultra distance with carefully designed courses and escape route options.

Very well organised with a nice atmosphere and gorgeous trails. Robbie D
Very well run and highly professional event. The volunteers were amazing and made it a great day, and the reason I’ll be back. For an inaugural ultra, it felt like it had been running for years. Well done to the organisers. Stuart A
Honestly a great event. Everyone looked to have enjoyed it and there was no pretentious atmosphere at all, just people wanting to run. I can’t wait for next year’s race. Stuart H
Excellent organisation. Kudos to everyone who made this amazing event happen. Renald M
Maybe a few more distance markers would help, especially towards the end. Tracey C

Excellent event all round. The organisers did a superb job. Ross N
Brilliant coach shuttle service to and from the event. The route had beautiful views, feed stations were well stocked and well spaced, and the support crew were friendly and encouraging from start to finish. I would definitely recommend it. Well done everyone! Erica S
