Highlights

  • Run as many laps as you wish in the 6-hour time limit
  • The 3.3-mile off-road loop means your race can be 5K or even over 80K and anywhere in between
  • You decide how many laps you're going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit
  • To cover marathon distance, you'll need to complete 8 laps
  • To cover a half marathon distance, it's 4 laps
  • It’s completely up to you; there is no pressure, but see if you want one more lap
  • The format is great for people looking to run further than they’ve ever done before, do a long training run for future events or to enjoy a sociable event with your friends

Fitness level

The key thing is that these events are for everyone. There is no such thing as too slow!

You cannot run with your dog.

Although the temperatures are likely to be lower on a May evening the canicross season finishes in March so there will be no canicross entry for this event.

GPX route

Overview

What a fantastic location. The views at the top are breathtaking, although you might not have much breath to take by the time you’ve got there!

The course is distinctly up for the first half and down for the second. You climb from the lower car park start point along well-maintained crushed stone pathways towards the trig point. The Trig point isn’t actually on the route (it’s an additional distance if you want to visit it for the photo opportunity!), you then glide down the other side of the park and back to the start.

Underfoot will be decent but likely “mucky”, depending on the weather. It’s a tough route but not technical underfoot.

4 steps to wellbeing
Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
