Event overview
The beautiful estate of Belvoir Castle set’s the scene for the perfect multisport weekend event!
Like an illustration in a romantic fairy-tale, crowning the top of an isolated hill, the castle turrets and towers rise above the Vale of Belvoir. Looking over the battlements from the North Terrace, you can see for miles over the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The name Belvoir – meaning ‘beautiful view’ in French, is pronounced today as ‘beaver’.
Fan’s of TV series The Crown, will recognise several scenes filmed at Belvoir Castle. This Regency Castle was the perfect fit to recreate the Royals’ residence.
The Belvoir Castle event will feature some truly iconic courses amidst the 3000 acres of naturally designed landscape, a large range of races for all ages and abilities, whether you’re 9 or 90 years old, a first-timer or an elite.
This event is part of Belvoir Castle Triathlon and Multisport Festival.

Great day out! As usual, another great event by Castle Race Series. excellent organisation, good friendly feel to it and nice event village atmosphere. a proper trail run! Andy S
A really great event, well planned and a supportive atmosphere for a first-time triathlete. I was taken aback by the distance between the swim and transition zone- it seems like a 600m uphill run was a bit mean! But apart from that, great course and lovely venue! Molly W
The most friendly, upbeat and helpful Marshalls and staff. Such a well-organised event. Look forward to racing more in the Castle Series. Mark S
Loved this event, definitely consider again for next year. Parking close to the village, later start times, great surroundings. Lake was good for swim, long run over hard ground to T1. Lovely fast bike course with one small hill. Hilly run in the castle grounds. Finish zone well stocked with water, coke, fruit and jellies. Cold water towels and sun beds! Lovely medal too!! Marc J
Really enjoyed the sprint and will definitely do it again. The venue, setting and routes were all really lovely (and thanks for ordering some great weather helped too!) Courses were good - just the right amount of challenging bits for me, and well signed/marshalled. All staff were very friendly and helpful, a great atmosphere all round! Rachel H
Superbly organised event from start to end. Tough tracks. Other than the public roads for the bike and the many buoy turns for the swim, this was a perfect setup. Well done and thank you. I gladly come back! Conrad M
First ever Half iron, I loved it! It was a challenge, but a great event! Beautiful day and grounds. One thing i will say is more water stations on the run! It was a really hot one today. Liam G
Having done all of the Castle series tris, this is definitely one of my favourites - loved the cycle (and I am not a keen cyclist!) and the lovely run route. Kathryn B
On the whole, a really nice event and one I’d do again. Well-marked course, a bit different with the trail run and great volunteers. The castle and surroundings a spectacular too. Victor H
I really liked the location and thought access to and from the site was easy. The lake was small and the course a little cramped. This wasn’t aided by the shallow water and weeds that were kicked up. The bike and run course were of decent quality and easy enough to follow whilst providing some challenging terrain. I would do this again and accept the compromises of the lake. Joe W
