Overview
Beyond London 55km Ultra route takes you off the beaten track onto the city’s Capital Ring footpath. Here on Greater London’s inner circle you’ll come across some of London’s most iconic sights, from medieval wonderland Eltham Palace to the ancient woodland and rolling hills of Richmond Park. Alongside these well-known and much-loved sights, you’ll be surprised by the everyday beauty of the trails, footpaths, parks, disused railway lines, woodland and more - and the almost total absence of main roads and highways. Fully-signed and well-supported, you’ll feel like you’re in safe hands.
Waymarked route
There will be event-specific directional signs and confidence markers throughout the course. In the briefing before the race participants will be shown the course markers. GPX files can be downloaded from the event page to follow on the day. A sports GPS navigation device is recommended if you have one.

25km

The course is on or very close to the Capital Ring path. Being an urban ultra event, you can expect the terrain to be a mixture of footpaths, parks, woodland trails, canal paths and disused railway lines and there are also steps in places. Dependent on weather conditions parts of the route may be muddy. Whilst it is not mountainous, there are hills in places that will provide a challenge for participants.
