Bishopton Olympic Triathlon

Start your triathlon journey on Bishopton Lake, home of the North East Wake Park.

This venue offers a great opportunity for beginners to test their grit as the lake is shallow, allowing participants to stand across the majority of the lake swim course. 

The shallow nature of the lake means the water temperature will climb quickly, meaning you don't have to brave the brrr and you can relax and enjoy at your own pace. The fast and flowing cycle route features parts of the British Cycle Series course as well as being used for TT events and the British Championships, so you can check your Strava segments post-race to see how you did. 

Swim

Swim in the shallow and clear open water man-made lake within Bishopton North East Wake Park. The water depth is no more than 5ft, giving entrants the option to stand if needed. This venue is also well sheltered from winds, meaning the water is flat and beginner friendly.

Cycle

The bike portion of this race has triathletes take on a flat and potentially fast open road course around the local villages. Very few turns and flowing fast roads will make for good times.

Run

The mixed course of road and trail around the local parish council villages creates a spectator-friendly route to keep you going when you need it most, if the spectators haven't taken in one of the great pubs on route, that is.
