image

The next event features a wider range of trail races and an exciting edition of the outdoor cinema, plus a range of live music on the Saturday evening.

All running entries include festival village access all weekend.

Staged within the grounds of the iconic Blair Castle on the Atholl Estate, this weekend of trail running has races for kids and distances from 7km right up to 58km.

All races start at the Event Village based in the grounds of Blair Castle, which nestles at the base of the Cairngorm National Park.

From here on out, depending on your choice of race, runners either loop round past Hercules Gardens and back to the start, fork off up the winding Glen Tilt or head toward the 1009m high summit of Ben Dearg. Which trail will you take?

Ability level

This event offers a diverse range of running events designed to cater to all levels of runners, from beginners to seasoned athletes.

Over the course of the weekend, there are various races ranging from short 1km fun runs to more challenging ultramarathons up to 58km. This variety ensures that there is something for everyone, regardless of their experience or fitness level. Whether you are looking to enjoy a leisurely run, take on a new challenge, or push your limits, the trail weekender provides the perfect opportunity to do so in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Run-able but challenging

The courses have a mix of terrain but none of the shorter races offer particularly technical terrain which are a great introduction to trail running.

The longer courses of 32km and 58km offer a slightly more challenging event - you'll need some experience of running on rougher trails but there is nothing overly technical. These events are a great intro into longer, more challenging trail experiences whilst maintaining an inclusive approach.

What participants said about last year:

We've been to Blair Castle Trail Weekender from year one and can safely say it's the best weekend of trail running on the Scottish calendar.

The atmosphere was amazing. We loved having the chance to camp and film on the Friday, and yoga to finish!

The family festival element of the whole weekend is an excellent idea. All members of our family had a great time!

Really fun to have so many races on the same weekend so all my friends could participate at different levels, also the music on Saturday night.

Will definitely be there for a third year next year. We were there with 5 other family and all except 2 didn’t run in any races. We all had such a good time.

Utterly stunning weekend!
