Event overview

There will also be the option for kids to run a single lap of the course. You can just run a couple of laps if you wish or for the whole 4 hours - the choice is yours! This is a perfect venue that has everything you would want for a wonderfully varied 3.3km route. There is real history here too. The property next door is called Mazamboni Farm and was once the home of Sir Henry Stanley, the explorer of β€œDr Livingston, I presume” fame. The stream that runs from this property and through our route is actually called Congo Stream. We are not making this up!! The route starts on a level grassy camping ground that gives good visibility for changeovers and support. Most of the route is in some really wonderful mature mixed woods though. As you might have guessed the stream will come into play, as will the marshes and boggy bits that run along the lower areas. There are hills here too and also a really cool old trench system that is like running through a sunken maze. Congo Stream is classic Brutal and ideal for this event. There will be no Lions or Crocodiles, maybe just the odd mosquito!
