Using public transport is recommended.

By rail

If you are travelling from outside London by rail we recommend using either London Waterloo or London Paddington stations. Both stations have Underground connections so you can quickly hop on a train to continue your journey. We personally would recommend using London Waterloo as you are able to walk directly to the start line within 18 minutes.

By car

There is no event parking or drop off zone. You are advised to use public transport as the area is well served by tubes, trains and buses.

If you have to drive, please car share where possible and research a couple of different parking locations before setting off. The road closures in place for the event may cause delays or diversions – please ensure that you leave plenty of time for your journey. If you are arriving by taxi or being dropped off, please find a suitable and safe place to stop which is off of the main roads so that you don’t hold up the traffic.

By bike

Bicycle parking facilities will not be provided. Anyone arriving by bike should use local public facilities for bike storage. Please do not use unofficial locations/railings or block entrances or walkways etc. with your bike. All bikes are left at your own risk. A couple of TFL Bike Hire stands will be suspended during the event, however these will mostly be the ones located directly on the run route.

Every year participants get the chance to run through the heart of London, with the roads closed exclusively for the event.

The 2024 route will be revealed very soon and promises to be full of snowy surprises. Picture high-fiving huskies, partying penguins, and huggable polar bears. If you’re lucky you may even spot a legendary yeti or two!

  • Recycling
  • Sustainability policy

This event is constantly striving to improve sustainability to reduce the impact on the environment.

The approach is to ensure that the organisers and the events are run as sustainably as possible to minimise their impact on the planet with the familiar 'reduce, re-use and recycle' ethos at the forefront.

Here are the areas of progress made so far:

Sustainability overview

  • Recycle as much as possible
  • Separate waste
  • Partnerships to encourage sustainable training
  • Springwater bottles made from 51% - 100% recycled plastic
  • Drop zones and additional receptacles to encourage runners to deposit bottles in a place they can easily be recycled
  • Race packs/pre-event communications digital rather than paper-based
  • Recyclable paper envelopes
  • Green Runner option to forego the t-shirt/medal in favour of donating to support The Ocean Cleanup
  • Medals ordered early to ensure delivery by sea rather than air freight
  • Any remaining medals recycled
  • Finisher t-shirts are eco-friendly using 50% recycled polyester
  • Donate remaining t-shirts/unwanted clothing to charity

In the last 40 years Cancer Research UK has helped double cancer survival in the UK.

Your entry fee covers the cost of putting on the event, but it’s the money you raise that goes straight towards life-saving discoveries. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. All of us can support the research that will beat it.

Like the name of the race suggested, there was a winter theme. Support came from polar bears, penguins, and wolves to high five along the way around. Furthermore, in several places along the route, there were, choirs singing, bands and buskers playing. Duncan

Winter themed 10K

A great race for a great cause. Very well organised and great to have a road race through central London. Lots of people of all abilities taking part which is great. Maxwell

Run past famous landmarks

What an amazing race! Friendly, fast and fantastic fun. Great support from the crowds, marshalls and winter 'Animals'. Lovely medal and real 'all day event' with post race bands and entertainment. Can't wait for next year's race. Claire
