Event overview

kick off the running fever on Saturday morning with a full day of fun activities, entertainment and running for all ages and abilities. With smiling faces, fancy dress, and (fingers crossed) a bright blue sky, the Cardiff Half Junior will prove to be a thrilling start to the Cardiff Half Marathon weekend. The event is a part of R4W Next Gen; a re-imagined series of family events that aim to inspire a future generation of healthy, active adults. The event offers a no-pressure, family-focused Fun Run, a Toddler Dash for those taking their first steps into physical activity and a Future Challengers race for talented young athletes and junior club runners looking for an accessible and competitive race. So, dig out your best fancy dress, drag along the rest of your family and friends and enjoy the day. Expect a vibrant atmosphere and loads of support from the crowd. Fun Run and Future Challengers race entry includes CHM Junior branded finishers medals plus chip timing, meaning you can check out your official time after the race. We encourage people to run for our charity partner NSPCC. If you choose to run for #TeamNSPCC, you’ll be running to rebuild the lives of children who have been abused in the UK. As a team, you’ll be preventing any more abuse and neglect.

This event is part of Cardiff Half Junior.

4 steps to wellbeing
Sleep well

A good night's sleep is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle, effective training and weight control.

Train slow

Low-intensity training is easier for you, reduces the risk of injury and helps builds an efficient aerobic system.

Eat natural

Cut out sugar & junk food, reduce carbs, eat natural foods and train your body to burn fat for fuel.

Get outdoors

Fresh air, natural light and reconnecting with nature all help to improve mental and physical wellbeing.
