Event overview

The Ultra 52mile event will start at Carrickfergus Castle and will run to Belfast Castle where you will turn around and follow the same route back to the finish at Carrickfergus Castle one of the oldest Castles in Ireland. Your route will not be an easy one as you start by running up to Knockagh then on to Carnmoney hill then up and over Cavehill making your way down to Belfast Castle where you will turn around and then make your way backup over Cavehill, then on to Carnmoney hill and on again to Knockagh, you will have amazing views across Belfast Lough as you climb and descend all 3 of these hills twice, the route will have a full mix of terrain including, trail, footpaths, road and forest paths, this is a run not to be missed and one not for the faint hearted. You will be fully tracked on your journey, there will be water stops aid stations along the route and you will have the option of a drop bag at the turnaround. Cut off time for the ULTRA is 14 hours. The Marathon event will start in the grounds of Belfast Castle and will run to Carrickfergus where you will finish beside Carrickfergus Castle one of the oldest Castles in Ireland. Your route will not be an easy one as you start by running up and over Cavehill, then on to Carnmoney hill and on again to Knockagh, you will have amazing views across Belfast Lough as you climb and descend all 3 of these hills!, the route will have a full mix of terrain including, trail, footpaths, road and forest paths. this is a run not to be missed. Cut off time for the MARATHON is 7 hours.
