Cornhill Highland Games Races | Knock Hill Race

Knock Hill Race (8.5 miles) – The first Knock Hill Race took place in 1970 as a fund raiser towards creating a playing field for Cornhill. It was a great success and became an annual event. 2024 will be the 52nd Knock Hill Race to take place (having missed 2020 & 2021 due to Covid). The distance covered from Cornhill to the top of the Knock Hill and back to Cornhill is 8.5 miles. It is a gruelling task having a road and hill race in one. The front runners are usually back within an hour. 1 hour and 45 minutes is the deadline for completion of the race to receive a participation medal. 10k Road Race – Introduced in 2018, the 10k road race takes runners from the Games field out of Cornhill village to the bottom of the Knock Hill where they will turn and return to the Games field. There will be children’s races in the arena, including running races for children up to 12 years old and sack races for children aged 5-12 years.
