GPX route

The route is displayed on the map above.

Overview

Swim in the calm, clear waters of a private Cotswolds lake before heading out onto quiet, rolling country roads for a scenic cycle through classic Cotswold countryside. Finish strong with a traffic-free run entirely within the venue grounds, where a contained, spectator-friendly course keeps the atmosphere high and support close from start to finish.

Swim

Clockwise lap of the lake, keeping the swim buoys on your right. The lake is gravel filtered and approximately 6 metres deep, weed is usually not too much of a problem but during long bouts of hot weather this can appear in pockets. Typically, the temperature at this event is around 15-17°C.

Bike

Anticlockwise laps of the Cotswolds, where the roads are open to traffic, so the highway code rules always apply. Generally, the road surfaces are good, however some small stretches around working quarries have potholes to be mindful.

Run

Clockwise laps (1.5km) around the lake along a flat woodland and grass surface. During wet weather, this can become slippery and muddy, so choose your footwear according to the weather.

Transition

Located on grass, with a slight camber. Racking is numbered according to your race. Swim end and run start entrances are one end, with the bike start and bike end at the other, keeping this fair for all.

Very friendly atmosphere, very well organised. It was my first triathlon and I got plenty of directions and support from staff, spectators and other participants. Oliwia W

Great event as always from LPS. Lake 62 is a great lake for racing and the weeds are part and parcel of British summer lake swimming. Patrick

Weed grows in lakes when the weather is hot. This is not a race directors fault. Rachel B
