Overview

The iconic Bala triathlon begins with a water start in the famous Llyn Tegid with Aran Fawddwy providing a dramatic backdrop. After an out and back swim, you will head into transition to get ready for the 38km bike section. Don’t let the mountainous scenery fool you as you head out of transition on the fast and flat bike route. The bike route follows the western shore of the lake, before cutting through the lowlands of southern Eryri (Snowdonia), turning, and heading back towards Bala. The run continues in a similar vein to the bike, a fast and flat 10km to finish a spectacular race. The perfect route for beginners or a great opportunity for a PB for experienced racers!

Triathlon y Bala is once again supporting Tom Harrison House. Tom Harrison House is an addiction recovery centre supporting veterans from across the UK and all three services, as well as still-serving soldiers, reservists and those in the emergency services. The programme also offers support to family members. The specialist team at the centre are supported by dedicated volunteers, all of whom have been through the programme themselves. With exercise playing a major part in recovery, supporting both mental and physical health, taking part in the triathlon has given an important focus to many residents - look out for the boys and girls in blue at the event and give them a cheer!

If you would like to fundraise and support their incredible work, please tick the box on your booking form when entering. There is no minimum amount; every penny counts.
