Dark Skies Run @ Derwent 10K

This breath-taking reservoir is an incredible haven for nature enthusiasts, with its vast water straddling the County Durham and Northumberland respective borders. It often Shares its water source with our other popular Dark Skies Race Series’ venue, Kielder Water. It is surrounded by hills, interspersed with woodland and tranquil, rolling pasture. Our Dark Skies trail races offer a peaceful escape, taking you through varied woodland and grassland, along the undulating shoreline of the Derwent reservoir. Daytime, will turn to dusk and your trail will end in the dark! There is an extra, fun twist on these particular Dark Skies races, (aptly named), for along the trail there will be envelopes with prizes in to be found by your eagle eyes! You will find a code to bring back to the finish which you can claim your prize and keep! If the envelopes are not found, then the lucky sweepers get them! Our HQ and other surrounding car parks at Derwent offer the chance to camp overnight in a campervan - it is so idyllic and also has a fantastic playground and is surrounded by wonderful undulating hills and woodland. We have chosen to include both a 5K and 10K race here to offer a range of options for those more seasoned runners and those who are new to running, or, for whichever suits different fitness levels or personal preference. Trail Outlaws' Dark skies runs are immense fun, you will experience a wonderful sense of comradery, as well as a unique challenge and make memories to last!
